Mahamana Madan Mohan Malviya Institute of Hindi Journalism

About The Institute:
The University Grant Commission (UGC) and Government of India had established this Institute for Post Graduate teaching and Research in field of Communication and Journalism in the year 1992.
To mark 125 birth anniversary of Mahamana  Madan Mohan  Malviya and centenery function of Malviya’s edited daily Hindi news paper “ Hindusthan” at Pratapgarh in UP, Late Prime Minister Sri Rajiv Gandhi had declared that an institute would be established in the name of Mahamana Malviya  Ji.
In this regard, Mrs. Krishna  Sahi, Union Minister for Education and Culture had invited a proposal from the UP Chief Minister,  Sri. N.D. Tiwari. The same proposal was again invited by the Union HRD Minister, Sri P. Shiv Shanker  from U.P Chief  Minister. This proposal was forwarded by the Chief Minister of  U.P to the Kashi Vidhyapith, Varanasi and Kashi Vidhyapith sent the proposal.
Acting on the proposal of  Kashi Vidhyapith, the U.G.C. set up a committee headed by “Navbharat Times” Editor Sri Rajendra Mathur. On the recommendations  of above  mentioned committee, the U.G.C. had established “Mahamana  Madan  Mohan  Malviya Institute of  Hindi  Journalism” in 1992 as well as approval made by U.P. Goverment in 1994. U.G.C. had released a grant in 1994 and MJ(MC) teaching started since   1997and Ph.D research work since 1996.
